Come on in out of the cold for the Annual Community Kaleidoscope, Sunday, January 27. This popular winter community gathering will run from 12-4 pm at the Troy Community Center. There is no admission fee for the event.
“Come on out and join us for a fun afternoon,” City of Troy Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart said. “This is a great way to fight those winter blahs as you get to know more about Troy’s facilities, programs and services.”
Many engaging activities are planned for the entire family, including live entertainment, indoor sports and swimming, music by DJ David B, free fitness classes and a community resource expo. Food will also be available at a nominal charge.
“There are a variety of activities to check out,” Stewart said. “Take a swim in the Community Center’s indoor pool with waterslides. Play basketball in the state-of-the-art gym. Check out the free group fitness classes in Cycle & Sculpt (12:30 - 1:30 pm) and Lo Cardio Plus Toning (1:30 - 2:30 pm). Go bowling (compliments of Troy Lanes and Bowl One) and enjoy other activities such as face painting, story telling, Legos®, Mancala, Bingo and games. See special demonstrations by the Troy Museum. Don't miss the chance to meet the Police K-9s at 2 pm.”
Community Kaleidoscope is sponsored by the Troy Activities Coordinating Team (T.A.C.T.), a partnership of the City of Troy, the Troy School District, Troy Continuing Education and the Troy Community Coalition. The Troy Community Center is located at 3179 Livernois (between Big Beaver and Wattles). For more information, call 248.524.3484 or 248.524.1147.
