The demolition of the former Kmart headquarters, expected to occur after the holiday shopping season, won't happen until the weather warms up, said Hunter Richardson, lead developer on the Pavilions of Troy. The $300 million town square project is planned for the site at Coolidge and Big Beaver. The combination of luxury shops, restaurants, condos and offices is scheduled to open by spring 2010. The project received initial approvals from the city last year.
