A ’05 Ford F-150 pickup was stolen from lot. 07-8031
Oakland Mall Lot, 412 W. 14 Mile, 3-4, 1230-1300 hrs.
A ’01 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen from lot. 07-8059

Crash Investigations:
Chopin, 3/3, 0400 hrs.
Complainant attempted to report his ’93 Mercury Cougar stolen from his drive. When officers made a computer query on the plate, they discovered it had been impounded earlier at the scene of a hit and run crash in Troy, where it crashed into a parked car and the driver was reportedly observed by witnesses fleeing on foot from the scene. The complainant matched the description of the fleeing driver. When challenged with that information, the 28-year-old complainant from Troy admitted driving, crashing it into a parked car, and then leaving the scene. He was issued a citation for failing to stop and identify himself at the scene of a crash and released at the scene. 07-7919
Credit, Check, Identity Theft, and other Fraud:
Complainant received notice via mail that her bank account was overdrawn. Upon investigating, she discovered seven counterfeit checks made and cashed using her account number, but listed to a name and address of a female in Detroit. Total fraud: $672.78.
Two separate reports taken regarding complainants receiving automated phone calls from someone claiming to be a representative from a bank requesting they contact the bank. One of the complainants has a loan from the bank, but no other accounts. When she dialed the number, an automated system requested her credit card account information. Neither complainant provided the requested information; no losses.
Complainant received a call from his credit card company that someone had made suspicious purchases on his credit card. He advised the credit card company representative that he had not made the purchases. He discovered additional information that the items being purchased were being shipped to an address in Detroit with which he is not familiar.
Domestics/Family Troubles:
Troy Officers responded to three incidents involving family troubles/domestic disputes where investigation revealed no assaults or other crimes occurred, therefore no formal enforcement action taken/required.
Drugs/Narcotics:
N/B I-75 N/O Big Beaver, 3/3, 0330 hrs.
While impounding a ’01 Ford Ranger from a crash scene, officer located 4 grams of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the center console. The 21-year-old male from Oak Park that had been driving was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. 07-7896
Big Beaver and John R, 3/2, 0946 hrs.
Complainant reported observing the driver of a green Mitsubishi Mirage smoking marijuana. When officer located and stopped it, he could smell the odor of burning marijuana coming from inside the car. The 22-year-old male driver from Troy admitted smoking just prior to being stopped. He pointed to a tin box on the front passenger seat that he stated contained a marijuana pipe. When the officer opened it, he located the pipe, which was still smoking. Two small baggies of marijuana were recovered from a canvas bag that was inside the car. Subject was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of marijuana and possession of marijuana. A blood test was obtained; toxicology results pending. 07-7754
John R and Big Beaver, 3/2, 2206 hrs.
Complainant flagged down an officer on patrol and reported observing the occupants of a green Jeep rolling a marijuana blunt while parked in a nearby parking lot. Officer located and approached the vehicle. While so doing he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The 22-year-old male driver from Troy turned over a small baggie of marijuana from his pants pocket. He was cited and released at the scene for possession of marijuana. His 22 year old passenger from Troy was released with no enforcement action taken against him; no violations. 07-7864
Drunk/Intoxicated Driving Incidents of Interest:
6000 Block of Rochester, 3-4, 0240 hrs.
Complainant reported a Ford Taurus was stuck up to its front axle in his front lawn, with the driving revving the engine and spinning the wheels in the mud trying to get it un-stuck. Responding officers located a 20-year-old male from Royal Oak on foot at the house next door. He denied being the driver when asked, however a witness identified him. At that point he explained he was attending a party at the house next door when someone wanted to leave. His car was apparently blocking that car in the drive, so he drove onto the front lawn of complainant’s house to let that car out and got stuck. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested. Home Invasion, 2000 block of Rochester, 3/3, 0608 hrs.
Complainant reported being awakened when her bedroom door opened. She looked toward the door and observed an unknown male subject crawling across the floor of the bedroom on his hands and knees. Both she and her boyfriend challenged him, and he walked out. They heard a car start and drive off from a nearby parking lot. A window was found open on the residence; the screen had been cut. Nothing stolen/missing. 07-7900
Larcenies:
St. Lucy’s Croatian Catholic Church, 200 W. Wattles, 3/3-3/4, 1830-0050 hrs.
Complainant stated while attending a function she hung her black mink coat up in the self-serve coatroom. When she returned to retrieve it, it was gone. 07-8007
Store, 740 John R, 3-4, 1400-1600 hrs.
Three employees left coats and purses in the employee break area. When they went to retrieve their belongings, they discovered some money and two cell phones stolen. 07-8100
DHL Express, 1170 Souter, 3/2, 1322 hrs.
Package shipped from complainant’s business containing a diamond ring found tampered with, and the ring missing upon delivery/receipt at its final destination in Madison Heights. 07-7785

Golfsmith, 288 John R, 3/2, 1715 hrs.
Complainant reported observing a male in the corner of the store handling several golf drivers. When complainant made eye contact with subject, he left. Upon checking the area, she discovered two security alarm sensor tags had been removed from two of the clubs, one valued at $500.00 and the other at $450.00. Complainant located the broken tags discarded in a bag near the clubs in question. The subject was last seen entering a dark colored Ford SUV. Suspect is a B/M, 5-10, 180, 25 years old, wearing a tan jacket and jeans.

Troy Officers responded to one incident involving an individual experiencing emotional/psychological difficulties and assisted w/transport to the hospital for evaluation/commitment.
