From the Troy Concerned Citizens...
The Troy Concerned Citizens Group supports the Council’s right, as well as their responsibility, to manage its affairs without external pressure from outside corporations for the betterment of this city.
“To that end, we are also pleased to support and encourage our city leaders in their efforts to make the conceptual ‘Gateway Park’ an actual reality”, states Herb Everss, Chairperson of T.C.C.G.. “The initial drawings for this art park venue were completed and submitted to council in the summer of last year at a cost of $6,500, and that was after the Big Beaver Corridor study was done at a cost to the city of $150,000. We applaud our city’s leaders taking positive steps to move forward with this project on the northwest corner of Big Beaver and Rochester Roads, and offer our wholehearted support”.
At our February 5th rally, the initial park drawings were presented to the over 170 attendees who reacted very positively to them. We Troy residents are proud of our city and implementing plans for this park is just another step towards making the entire Big Beaver corridor the “world class boulevard” we have envisioned. We welcome and will work with all who share and wish to further this vision. The Troy Concerned Citizens Group is a group of Troy residents who support local control and are working together to present a positive image of Troy.
