From the City’s Community Affairs Department…

The Troy City Clerk’s office is hosting a Saturday Passport Drive for all those who need to apply for a passport but find it hard to stop in during the week.  The City Clerk’s Office will be processing passport applications on Saturday, March 10, from 9 am - noon.  The City Clerk’s office is an official passport acceptance facility that offers passport photo services as well.

 

Citizens may also continue to apply for passports Monday through Friday from 8 am–4 pm.  You do not have to be a Troy resident to submit your paperwork through the City.

 

“We hope this special Saturday Passport Drive will assist those who find it difficult to drop by City Hall during our regular business hours,” City Clerk Tonni Bartholomew said. 

 

As of December 31 2006 a passport is required for all international sea and air travel and will soon be required land border crossings.  Applications are available at www.travel.state.gov or the Troy City Clerk’s office.  The City Clerk’s office is located at Troy City Hall, 500 West Big Beaver on the second floor. Requirements

- All applicants must be present for Application (both parents for minors under 14).

- All applicants 18+ need valid STATE-ISSUED picture I.D. or Driver’s License (applicants under 18 are identified using valid parental I.D. or Driver’s License).

- All applicants need a certified copy of his/her birth certificate (for submission with application).

- All applicants submit two 2” x 2” passport photos (or photos can be taken on site for $10).

- Payment for passport must be personal check or money order, payable to the US Department of State.  Fees are: Adults (16+): $67 and minors under 16: $52.

- Execution fee: $30, photos: $10.  Payment for application execution & photos can be made by check, money order, or debit card payable to City of Troy.
