Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, 208 W. 14 Mile, 12/24, 1400 hrs.
Complainant reported noting a $10.00 bill presented for a purchase via the drive-through was counterfeit. When advised, the customer presented a valid $20.00 bill for the purchase. It appeared the customer did not realize the $10.00 was a counterfeit. Counterfeit TOT Troy PD. 07-48533
Domestics/Family Troubles:
Troy Officers responded to two incidents involving family troubles/domestic disputes where investigation revealed no assaults or other crimes occurred, therefore no formal enforcement action was taken.

Embezzlements:
Local business representatives initiated an embezzlement investigation against a former payroll-accounts payable clerk. Their investigation revealed she had been paying herself more than she was authorized in salary and overtime, as well as issuing and cashing checks made out to herself while listing them in the ledgers as paid to vendors. She apparently also issued and cashed checks to herself made out to petty cash. She was terminated after the discrepancies were discovered. Investigation continues. 07-48500
Home Invasions:
Atlas, 12/26, 1630-1900 hrs.
An xBox 360, several xBox games, and an MP3 player were discovered missing from the residence. Apparently a 14 year old male from Troy who is an associate of complainant’s 15 year old daughter was at the house earlier in the day. Her daughter stated he was on her computer, when she noticed an IM conversation he was having wherein the person he was communicating with was asking questions about her cell phone, and eventually wrote that the 14 year old should steal it. She hid her phone and the youth eventually left after deleting his IM history on her computer. The family went out and when they returned discovered the above items stolen. The items were there when they left. The 15 year old proceeded to e-mail the youth telling him she knew he broke into her home and stole their property. He proceeded to block her from access to of all his on-line accounts. Officers proceeded to the youth’s residence to learn he had arrived home with a box of items that when questioned by his parents as to where he got them, refused to tell them. He had since left with the items in the company of another male. The original complainant contacted investigating officers later to report that after communicating with other associates on-line, her daughter learned the suspect may have sold the items at a local retailer that purchases used electronics. Complainant reported a box of clothing he ordered was dropped off by UPS and left at his front door outside his residence. Sometime after it was dropped off, it was stolen. 07-48544
Somerset Collection, 2800 W. Big Beaver, 12/26, 1350 hrs.
Complainant stated she had her purse on top of her stroller. The purse was apparently open. When she went to remove her wallet to make a purchase at the Build-A-Bear store, she discovered her wallet missing. 07-48528
