Girl Scout Brownie Troop #2252 of Troy Michigan led by Co-Troop Leader Miyuki Anderson will be at Alliance Mobile Health Main Station Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 1600 hours until 1900 hours to donate stuffed animals that the girls made at Build-A-Bear.  These Bears will be kept on Emergency Vehicles to be used to comfort children who have been involved in some time of accident or have been injured requiring Emergency Services.  Alliance Mobile Health, along with the Troy Police Department and A-1 Health and Safety will be providing the troop with educational activities geared toward reinforcing the civic minded efforts these young children have shown over the last few years.  Troy Police Department and Alliance Mobile Health will be instructing the girls on personal safety during emergency situations.  A-1 Health and Safety will be providing the families of the Brownie Troop with a Friends and Family CPR Course.  A brief agenda and contact information is included at the end of this release.

There will be a total of 20 children, ages 7 – 10 participating and 20 adult family members are enrolled in the CPR Class.  These girls have spent a considerable amount of their time on projects that benefit the public.  Here are just a few; In 2005 they made Thanksgiving cards for residents of Georgian Bloomfield Senior Home and held a can/bottle drive to raise money to buy items to be donated to Toys for Tots.  In 2006 they went caroling at the Alterra-Wynwood of Troy Retirement Home and had cookies with the residents.  They also spent time packing food boxes for Gleaners Food Bank.  This year, the raised more than $350.00 to buy toys, clothes and household goods for the Adopt-A-Family program and are making bears for Alliance Mobile Health.  Their final event scheduled this year will be to make blankets and build kitten forts for the Michigan Humane Society.

As you can see, these 7 year old girls have already participated more in bettering their community than most people do in a life time.  Alliance Mobile Health, the Troy Police Department and A-1 Health and Safety want to show our appreciation and respect to these young ladies and have put together this coming Wednesday’s event to do just that.  We hope you can make it by to show your support to these children so we can insure their continued efforts in civic minded activities.
