From the Troy Community Affairs Department...
How are you making a difference in the world? Let others know how you support freedom and equality by entering the MLK Day Essay Contest. This contest is open to all Middle School and High School Students, grades 6-12, who live in Troy. Essays are due by Monday, December 17 at 4 pm.
“This essay contest is special because it gives us a good indication of how our youth envision the state of the world,” said Cindy Stewart, City of Troy Community Affairs Director. “This contest is all about realizing that our actions affect our surroundings and helping students develop habits that will help us grow as a community.”
All essays must be 150 words or less, typed, double-spaced, in a 12-point font. Neatly printed, legible entries will also be accepted. This year’s topic is “How My Actions Can Make a Difference in My Community?” Each essay must include a cover sheet with the following information: author’s name, address, school, grade, phone number, and parent/guardian name.
