From the 9th Congressional District Republican Party...

Michigan's Ninth District Republican Committee today launched The Hrit Files, a new Web site located at http://www.hritfiles.com, which tells the truth behind Troy City Council candidate Kevin Hrit's strong ties to the Democratic Party.

Hrit, who claims to be non-partisan, has an undeniable record of working for and affiliating himself with the Democratic Party, says Troy resident Glenn Clark, Chairman of the 9th Congressional District Republican Party.  "Kevin Hrit campaigned for liberal Democratic congressional candidate Nancy Skinner, linked his campaign Web site to Democratic organizations, and is a member of liberal Democratic groups.  Even more glaringly, Hrit's campaign manager says he wants to create a 'Democratic powerhouse' in Troy," Clark said.  "The writing is on the wall, and it's as clear as can be – Hrit is a Democrat and is definitely partisan.  There's no whitewashing his record."

The Hrit Files underscores Hrit's affiliation with Nancy Skinner, a 2006 Democratic congressional candidate who advocated high taxes, new Internet taxes, and keeping the death tax on family businesses.  More shockingly, Skinner advocated environmental regulations that would cost the Big Three billions of dollars and thousands of jobs here in Michigan.

The new Web site also features images of Hrit's own Facebook and Myspace social networking Web pages, which Hrit linked to Democratic Party and Democratic candidate Web sites.  On Hrit's Myspace page, he declares his membership in groups including Myspace Democrats, The Left, the Liberal Movement, and two pro-abortion rights groups.  View those pages at http://www.hritfiles.com/myspace.html and http://www.hritfiles.com/facebook.html.

"Kevin Hrit is a Democrat through and through," Clark concluded. "The proof is in Hrit's words, in his actions, and in his affiliations.  Kevin Hrit is undeniably a liberal Democrat."
