From City of Troy Community Affairs...
Get ready for new and improved collection routing for refuse, recyclable and yard waste starting Monday, February 5. The new routing will change the pickup date for most residents. Letters informing residents of their new collection dates will be mailed the week of January 15. The trucks will run Monday through Thursday, allowing for them to be on the City’s streets fewer days of the week. Any problems or issues will now be resolved no later than Friday, eliminating the need for unsightly appliance, furniture or other refuse from sitting by the curb over the weekend. The new routing plan also eliminates the necessity for trucks coming through neighborhoods on weekends. “As the City entered into discussions for the new contract, it was recognized that there were efficiencies to be gained,” Troy Public Works Director Tim Richnak said. “The new optimized travel paths and balanced workloads will ensure the high level of service Troy residents enjoy without increasing costs.” For questions regarding refuse disposal, composting or recycling, call 248.524.3399 or 248.524.3392.
