These summaries are meant to provide general highlights of items of interest and do not necessarily reflect every incident responded to. Investigations of a nature or at a juncture where publicity may impair the outcome of a case are not generally listed.
Altercations/Disorderly Conduct:
Assaults:
South Boulevard, 12/8, 0215 Hrs.
Complaint, an 18-year-old female from Clinton Twp., reported she and her girlfriend, a 22-year-old female from Roseville, went out together with the 24-year-old male suspect from Troy this evening. Apparently the 22 year old had recently met the suspect where she works. Upon returning to the suspect's home, he reportedly tried to kiss the 22 year old, at which point the 18 year old suggested they leave. She reported the suspect became angry, told her not to ell her friend what to do, and threatened her with a knife stating he'd kill her. Officers interviewed suspect inside his home. At first he denied knowledge of the incident, then stated he was just joking around, and then stated he never did anything with a knife. A butterfly knife matching that which was described by the two females was recovered on the top of suspect's dresser. He was arrested. 06-46196

Note: While officers were checking the area in response to this incident, they observed a burgundy Olds 98 driving through a shopping plaza approximately 1/2 mile south of the B/E. It was occupied/driven by a lone male. A computer query on the plate revealed it was supposed to be on a '96 Ford Taurus not the Olds 98. It drove into a gas station lot and then exited shortly thereafter. Officers stopped it. The suspect began to exit the vehicle, but quickly re-entered and sped away. Madison Heights officers located the vehicle W/B on 696 and tried to stop it, but it again fled. Troy officers obtained a photo of the vehicle's registered owner and identified the 22-year-old male from Detroit as the driver they had observed inside the car during this incident. Investigation continues. 06-46035
Crash Investigations:
Fatal Crash, Long Lake and Livernois, 12/7, 1401 hrs.
Troy Police, Troy Fire, and Alliance EMS responded to a report of a serious crash. Investigation indicated a 2006 Chrysler Mini Van traveling N/B on Livernois approached and stopped at a red signal at Long Lake. After stopping, witnesses indicated the van proceeded north; entering the intersection while the light for N/B Livernois remained red. The van was struck by a truck and crane combination vehicle traveling E/B on Long Lake. The truck was proceeding through the intersection on a green signal. The van was occupied by a male and female, both 84, from Royal Oak. The male was driving; his wife was in the front passenger seat. Both required extrication from the van by the Troy Fire Department. The driver was initially conscious, however eventually became unresponsive. Both were transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. The driver, Robert Arthur Jones, was pronounced dead at the hospital. His wife was hospitalized with injuries that do not appear life threatening. The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old male from Novi, was not injured. The truck/crane is operated by J S Trudeau Cement Co. of Novi. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, nor does speed. The weather was clear and dry. An autopsy is scheduled for today. The intersection was kept open during the investigation, however traffic was diverted in several directions around the crash for approximately two hours before the scene was cleared. 06-46103
