From the Troy Police Department…
After several weeks of very positive
response from our community, the Holiday Food Drive is set to go tomorrow
morning. Food and gifts are being assembled for delivery at the Troy VFW post
late this afternoon and early evening, Wednesday December 13th. Members of the
media are welcome to stop by the Troy VFW Post this afternoon or evening and
witness the volunteers hard at work preparing for tomorrow’s deliveries.
The amount of food and gifts donated this year is truly impressive. Nearly 30
families who otherwise would not be in a position to enjoy the holiday season
will receive food and gifts as a result of this community effort. Mr. Charlie
Solis is the contact person at the VFW Post and can be reached at 248-689-7289
to arrange for photo opportunities this afternoon and evening. Members of the
media are also welcome to stop by the VFW Post Thursday morning beginning at
9:00 a.m. when the deliveries will be made. Families are kept confidential and
there will be no interview opportunities with them, however photo opportunities
will be available at the VFW Post as the deliveries go out. The post is
located on the north side of Maple just east of John R in
