Michigan Municipal League 2006 Candidate Questionnaire Results

“It’s important for members and their residents to know where candidates running for state office stand on local issues. For the first time in League history we developed a candidate questionnaire that put our priorities before every primary candidate running for office. Now, only one question remains. Do you know where your candidates stand?”

The candidates listed below have submitted questionnaires. Click on the hyperlink and you will be able to read their answers to the questions posed by the Michigan Municipal League.

View Article  Tom Kaszubski Reports That The Futures Report is Finished

Here's the email that I received last night...

Mayor and Members of Council,

It is my pleasure to inform you that the Futures Report is finished.  I have been working with Ed Barlow and his staff over the past 2 months to finish the project.

I've been trying to contact Brian Murphy since last Thursday (I finally talked to him today) to place a copy of the report in his hands.

The report now has to be put in a publishable form with pictures and layout to be added.  I thought it would be best to leave that part to the professionals.

The following are the instructions I've presented with the report:

1.  The intent is to publish this document without changes except for spelling and punctuation corrections.

2.  It is intended that the executive summary and Part A of each report be published in booklet form for distribution to the community.  Pictures and publishing symmetry are necessary for a finished product.

3.  Copies of Part B are intended to be used as appendix material to be made available at the Library and City Hall for reference by the community.  Part B does not have to be included in the published booklet.  Part B is to be used by staff and implementers as background material to better understand the intent of each preferred future.

4.  The report has been edited for format consistency only.  It is the intent of the project chairs that this report remains content true and not be changed except as indicated in # 1 above so that it would remain a true indication of the desires of representatives of the entire community and no special interest group.

5.  I believe the above is the expressed desire of all the 7 Task Force members and all who participated in this process.

I would also appreciate it if we could be informed when the report is in draft form (before publishing) so that it can be presented to the various task force members at a scheduled meeting for their approval. We would also like to have the finished product presented to Council by the 7 Task Force Chairs and co-chairs before it is released to the public.
