Assist Royal Oak PD, Meijer Store, 5150 Coolidge, 1/24, 0158 hrs.
Troy K-9 Unit located 19-year-old male from Royal Oak who fled on foot from a suspicious vehicle in the lot when approached by a ROPD officer. K-9 unit located him hiding under a motor home in a nearby industrial subdivision. He was the driver of a vehicle from which two other subjects had entered the store, one of whom stole a bottle of Vodka. 06-3025

Breaking and Entries:
Brenda’s Deli, 850 Stephenson, 1/20-1/23, 1500-0900 hrs.
Complainant stated she locked her business located inside the office building. When she returned, she found the door unlocked. The business had been rummaged. One vending machine had been pried open and a small amount of cash stolen. The key to the other vending machine had apparently been located and used to open that machine, however nothing was taken. Nothing from business taken. 06-2932
Alexy Food and Snack, 900 Wilshire, 1/20-1/23
Complainant reported the door handle to the business was working at close of business on Friday, but found inoperable on Monday. Complainant suspects it was tampered with during a possible break-in attempt; no entry gained. 06-3070
Hungry Howie’s, 3615 Rochester, 1/24, 0510 hrs.
Officers responded to an alarm and discovered front door glass broken, a hammer lying on the ground, and several cartons of cigarettes strewn about. Owner believes all that was taken were several cartons of cigarettes. 06-3033
Crash Investigations:
Credit, Check, Identity Theft, and other Fraud:
Moe’s Southwest Grill, 300 John R, 1/24, 2030 hrs.
Complainant reported subject ordered a $39.50 carryout and paid with what he represented was a “T-Check Systems” travelers check made out for $100.00. After receiving $61.50 in change, subject advised he’d be right back for the order. When he didn’t return, complainant called T-Check Systems and was advised the check in question was counterfeit. Complainant stated he was also informed by the person to whom he spoke at T-Check that other similar counterfeit checks were passed at area restaurants by an individual matching the description of the suspect in this case: W/M, 45 years, 6-1, 180, black hair, medium build, wearing a blue “Ford” work shirt who spoke with an accent. 06-3167
Business representative reported suspicions that an ex-employee may have accessed company files, obtained personal information, and opened a fraudulent bank account in someone else’s name, overdrawing it. The complainant provided suspect information and will forward documentation. Upon receipt, investigation will commence to determine if there is/was a fraud. 06-2908
Domestics/Family Troubles:
Troy Officers responded to two incidents involving family troubles/domestic disputes where investigation revealed no assaults or other crimes occurred, therefore no formal enforcement action taken/required.

Officers observed ’93 Buick Le Saber parked off the road in a field with the engine running and lights out. It was occupied by a 24-year-old male from Troy in the driver’s seat, a 24-year-old male from Clinton Twp. and 18-year-old female from Troy in the back seat. Upon asking the occupants to roll down the windows, the odor of marijuana was detected. Investigation revealed a small amount of marijuana hidden under the front driver’s seat cover; the marijuana belonged to the driver. Driver was arrested; passengers were released. 06-3175

LPO reported a 19-year-old female employee from Troy rang 12 fraudulent return transactions for a total of $6751.60 and then used the refund receipts to purchase gift cards. Portions of the gift cards were used to make purchases. $4874.09 was recovered from the gift cards, as LPO’s closed them out. Suspect admitted thefts; prosecution/warrants pending. 06-3113

400 lb. scrap bin filled with aluminum shavings was stolen from rear lot. 06-2978
De Grimme Gallery, 1700 Stutz, 1/24, 0915-1200 hrs.
Two oil paintings of cows in a field custom framed on black and gold leaf wood were stolen from the front of the gallery while business was open. 06-3085
General Motors, 1870 Technology, 1/13-1/24

’04 Saturn Vue parked in driveway had driver side rear door window smashed and dashboard pried/damaged in an attempt to steal the stereo. An amp, sub-woofer, radio, and radar detector were stolen from inside the vehicle. 06-3034

Passenger side window broken out on ’98 Dodge P/U parked in drive; nothing taken. 06-3080

43 year old female complainant reported 43 year old male business associate from Troy whom she employs as a sub-contractor in conjunction with her business exposed himself to her when she was dropping him off on 1/24. Suspect admitted act to officers, was apologetic, explaining he and complainant “joke around about sex talk” and characterized the exposure incident as a “bad joke.” He was arrested for Indecent Exposure. 06-3083
