On Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. the Troy Police Department in conjunction with the Troy Fire Department and Troy School District will host the second annual Shop with a Hero Program in Troy. With the generous financial support of the Michigan Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group, the Troy Wal-Mart Store, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and Buscemi’s Pizza a group of children from Troy who otherwise might not be able to fully participate in the holiday festivities will have the opportunity to select Christmas gifts for themselves and their families. Each child will be provided with a gift card and will be assisted with their shopping by a uniformed Troy Police Officer or Fire Fighter. A pizza party and gift-wrapping station will be set up inside the store for participants and their families to enjoy while they shop.
