Birmingham, 11/30, 0130 hrs.
Birmingham PD requested assistance of a Troy K-9 Team to attempt to locate three “larceny from auto” suspects that had fled on foot in their town. Troy K-9 Unit responded and recovered evidence, and assisted in the location and arrest of two suspects. The third suspect was located by Birmingham Officers in the area of the incident. 05-42074

Credit, Check, Identity Theft, and other Fraud:
83-year-old complainant reported someone in Florida is using his credit card account to make unauthorized purchases. It appears the investigator from the bank suspects the complainant’s former daughter-in-law, however complainant stated he has no evidence to support that theory. 05-41985
Complainant reported while reviewing his debit card transactions he discovered an unauthorized charge for $417.80 made at Saks in Troy. He has not lost his card; it remains in his possession, and he states he never shopped at the store in question. 05-42054
Footaction, 614 W. 14 Mile, 11/29, 1736 hrs.
Store representative reported suspect presented two $100.00 AAA Visa Traveler’s Checks for a gift card purchase. Complainant issued the gift card, but because the paper felt thin and he could not locate the watermark on the checks, contacted VISA who confirmed they were counterfeit. In the meantime, the suspect left the store w/the gift card. Upon closer inspection, both checks contained the same serial numbers. 05-42043
Complainant reported someone opened an on-line payment account using his identity. He received notice from the service indicating a transaction for $2280.00 was denied by his financial institution. Complainant never opened an on-line payment service account. 05-42044
Domestics/Family Troubles:
Troy Officers responded to one incident involving a family trouble/domestic dispute where investigation revealed no assaults or other crimes occurred, therefore no formal enforcement action taken/required.
Complainant reported her nephew visited her on Thanksgiving. Apparently he has a history of prior problems. When she awoke the next day, he, along with her car keys and her ’93 Ford Taurus were gone. 05-41533
Drugs/Narcotics:
Lifetime Fitness, 4700 Investment, 11/30, 0231 hrs.
Officer observed occupied suspicious vehicle in the lot. The 20-year-old male driver was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and so cited. He and his three female associates were released. 05-42077

Allegheny, 11/29, 1200 hrs.
Pedestrian door on attached garage forced open; entry gained into residence via unlocked door leading from garage into house. House ransacked, and plasma TV, DVD receiver, desktop and laptops w/accessories, and some jewelry stolen. Witnesses observed a subject described as a B/M wearing a long gray coat on the porch; a subject matching the same description was also observed occupying what is described as a gray older model vehicle w/a loud exhaust that was backed into the drive during the time frame the incident took place. 05-42019
Larcenies:
TYCO Electronics, 900 Wilshire, 1/23-11/25, 1700-0930 hrs.
Complainant reported two laptops stolen from offices in suite. No forced entry. Entry controlled by card access. Investigation revealed a card access card may have been missing for some time and used in this case. 05-41863

Redico Management, 888 W. Big Beaver, 11/28, 1110 hrs.
Complainant reported being involved in an on-going dispute with tenants from another suite in the office building parking in his leased parking spaces in the garage. When he discovered a vehicle parked in the spot again this morning, he blocked it in with his ’04 Mercury Sable. He later returned to find his vehicle had been keyed on both sides. Representatives from the office in question admitted parking in the complainant’s leased spot without a permit that morning, asserting it was no “crime” to do so, however denied responsibility for the damage. 05-41909
